malayalam latest movie 72 Model by rajasenan Review

Movie:
72 Model
Director:
Rajasenan
Cast:
Govind Padmasoorya, Sreejith Vijay, Soniya Das, Nazreen
Music:
M Jayachandran
Avg user rating:
There is this song in Rajasenan's latest bore, 72 Model, where the lyrics goes like this, 'Kaalam maari, style um maari, feel um maari…'. This can be translated as 'the times, styles and the feel has changed'. Mr. Rajasenan, this was one message you should have learnt yourself first!
There was a time when absurd stories and silly jokes could be smartly conveyed with some regular masala to fool the viewers in the guise of making entertainers. The world has moved on and things have changed, but sadly the Rajasenans are still where they used to be some 15 years back.
Now it's a pain to recollect what was being told in this absurd saga. Sajan (Govind Padmasoorya) is a chauffer and while he was driving his dad's old, '72 Model' Ambassador, he meets an old friend, Parvathy (Soniya Das).
The car breaks down after a while and Sajan leaves it at some old garage, where three gangsters come and hide their box full of currency. Using that fortune, Sajan, Parvathy and his friend Vivek (Sreejith Vijay) start an office. Janaki (Nazreen) joins the office and falls pretty easily for Sajan. There is another character, played by Madhu called Kuttanpillai sir, who appears often.
Now the only surprise in this film is that contrary to our perception, Kuttanpillai sir is not a ghost!
One thing is evident. Everyone involved in this film was competing with each other to come up with their worst performance. As writer and director, Rajasenan lives in some other planet thinking that his 90’s style comedy has takers even now. Nambiathiri's visuals and M Jayachandran's music perhaps suits the mood.
It's tough to decide who has come up with the worst performance here and in the final round there could be a tie between the deadpan Govind Padmasoorya and the over acting Soniya Das. The rest of the cast tried to tickle the funny bone but there is not even a single comedy scene in this whole film that will make you laugh. It is quite a mystery why a legendary actor like Madhu agrees to be part of this buffoonery?
72 Model is meant to be funny but what you feel is anger towards everyone who made this nauseating flick. Why can't producers think before funding ridiculous projects like this one?
Verdict: Avoidable

Ladies And Gentleman Movie Review...

Ladies And Gentleman, directed by Siddique and starring Mohanlal in the lead gives a subtle message - that life is all about positive attitude.
Ladies And Gentleman is a light-hearted film with many comic situations. The script as such is half baked. Moreover, the climax is a complete let down. Though the film starts off well, the second half falters and you are unable to make much sense of what director Siddique intended to do.
Few of the scenes in Ladies And Gentleman tends to remind you of Mohanlal's previous films such asHalloAngel John and Innathe Chinthavishayam to name a few. Music by Ratheesh Vegha is unimpressive while cinematography by Satheesh Kurup is average.
Performances
Mohanlal as usual is outstanding, and in fact his drunken acts are hilarious and very convincing. However, the script of Ladies And Gentleman is too weak to help him out in this regard. Debutant Krish J Sathar seems promising and is good in parts. Meera Jasmine fails to deliver this time even though she has a meaty role. Her makeup too looks befitting. Mamta Mohandas does a good job of the role offered to her while Padmapriya and Mithra have nothing concrete to do. The one actor who stands out is Kalabhavan Shajon with his extraordinary talent.
Story
Ladies And Gentleman is based on the IT industry of Kerala. The story revolves around Chandrabose (Mohanlal), a delightful young man and his accidental involvement and influence in the lives of young women around him. The story entwines the lives of four ladies - Anu, Aswathi, Jyothi and Chinnu. When Chandrabose enters their lives, their lives turns topsy turvy. There is a subtle message too - that life is all about positive attitude. Meera Jasmine plays the role of Mohanlal's wife.
Verdict
Ladies And Gentleman will definitely be liked and enjoyed by hardcore fans of Mohanlal.
Cast: Mohanlal, Krish. J. Sathaar, Meera Jasmine, Mamta Mohandas, Padmapriya, Mithra Kurian, Kalabhavan Shajon, Manoj K. Jayan
Director: Siddique

New malayalam Releases Sound Thoma Review

Malayalam new movie  Sound Thoma has been made as per the age-old recipe that was in vogue some twenty years back, used for making brainless masala entertainers.
Here are the ingredients. A hero, hailing from the 'ruling family' from an obscure village and easily God's most perfect creation considering his talent, intelligence, generosity and humour. The next is a beautiful heroine, who will hate him in the beginning and then falls madly in love with him at a crucial juncture. Then comes the villain, the epitome of all vices, who will be taught a lesson by the hero in the climax.
Not to forget the sidekicks, who all will be dumb and poor comedians, song & dance exercises, confusions, confessions and the final photo op with all the good characters where the hero and heroine will get the blessings of all. Nowadays, 'the making' video is shown with the end titles where everyone involved in the making, starting from the director, producer and his cronies will be doing all the gimmicks.
The hapless viewers have no choice but to watch all this buffoonery for not less than two and a half hours for the one big error that they have done - buying the ticket for the movie. And that's the case with this absurd drama called Sound Thoma.
Thoma (Dileep) is sound impaired due to his cleft lip and curved nose but that hasn't stopped him from dreaming of becoming a singer sometime in his life. He is the son of a filthy rich moneylender, Plapparambil Poulo (Sai Kumar), and is head over heels in love with radio jockey Sree Lakshmi (Namitha Pramod).
The antics of Thoma goes on as prescribed in films of this genre.
What was scriptwriter Benny P Nayarambalam and director Vysakh thinking when they made this nauseating buffoonery that lacks a credible storyline? This is a classic case of taking the viewer for granted. Shaji's visuals look good but Gopi Sundar's music is pretty ordinary. The Gangnam Style takeoff looks completely out of sync.
Dileep, who is known for his impeccable comic timing, has taken efforts to have the look of Thoma. But all has gone down in vain with a pathetic script. In a role that could have been at best an apt one for a ten-minute mimicry program, the viewers are made to sit in disbelief as the film goes from bad to worse.
Namitha Pramod looks pretty young to play the heroine and she has nothing much to do other than to look angry or look coy. As it happens in most comedies, the characters are yelling out their dialogues at the top of their voices.
Now, it goes without saying that there is no point in looking for logic in a comedy. But what if the movie tests your patience? Sadly, Sound Thoma is one such mishap, which could be okay in parts strictly for hardcore Dileep fans.

Immanual malayalam New Film Review (released in April)

New Malayalam Movie Immanuel, directed by Lal Jose has Mammootty play the title role with good support from Fahad Fazal who plays the role of Jeevan (Mammootty's boss). Lal Jose has once again proved his credential as a director and makes sure that the script does not falter. His previous films Diamond Necklace and Ayalum Njanum Thammil have already made a place for itself in the hearts of cinema-goers. Superstar Mammootty makes a simple entry and that gives the film a very 'authentic' touch. The first half is especially very entertaining since the chemistry between Mammootty and Fahad is brilliant. Cinematography by Pradeep Nair, editing by Ranjan Abraham and art-direction by Mohandas add a special touch to the flow of the film Immanuel. Dialogues too are catchy and goes well with the plot. Second half slows down a bit, but picks up pace towards the end. Story The film follows the character of Immanuel (Mammootty) who works in a book publishing firm. When the company is closed down due to unexpected reasons, Immanuel and his family find it difficult to make both ends meet. The hardships and harsh realities he faces forces him to see himself and his life in a new perspective that is often outside of his personal comfort zone. Jeevan (Fahad Fazil) heads a customer care centre in Cochin. He is smart, vivacious and handles his team and customers with perfect ease. Into this setup enters Immanuel who is desperate to support his family (wife played by Reenu Mathews and a son). What happens next? How does Immanuel face the problems that come his way? Watch Immanuel to know more. Performances Mammootty has once again proved his mettle as an actor and does exactly what is required for his character. He does not go overboard. Fahad Fazil stands out and is brilliant. Mukesh, Reenu, Nedumudi Venu, Salim Kumar have all done a fantastic job.

Verdict Immanuel is worth watching this weekend and seems to have all ingredients that might make it a superhit.

Cast: Mammootty, Mukesh, Fahadh Fazil, Reenu Mathews, Devi Ajith, Nedumudi Venu, Aparna Nair Director: Lal Jose

Latest malayalam Movie Red Wine (released in March) Movie review

Malayalam New Movie Red Wine, directed by Salam P and starring Mohanlal, Fahad Fazal and Asif Ali in the lead is an average thriller film which won't bore you for sure. While the first half is especially striking, the script lets you down in the second half as it gets quite boring after the intermission.

The climax in Red Wine is extremely predictable and unfortunately, though the film had a good plot, Salam Palapetty failed to execute it appropriately.

Music by Bijibal was average and the background score was extremely loud and irritating. Cinematography by Manoj Pillai was plain ordinary and so were the dialogues and screenplay. Story Red Wine is a thriller with a suspense element.

Mohanlal plays the role of Ratheesh who is an investigating officer. Fahad Fazil (Anoop) and Asif Ali (Ramesh) are strangers and have nothing in common. They share different principles and beliefs. But due to certain turn of events, both come together for a common purpose and it is Ratheesh who is the one instrumental in their encounter. Performances Fahad Fazal had the maximum screen time and he makes the best use of it. Fahad is brilliant and with every film, he proves that he has grown as an actor. Mohanlal as an investigating officer did a good job as expected. However, a superstar like Mohanlal could have been used more 'smartly'. Asif Ali is decent and does a pretty convincing job of his role. Heroines had nothing significant to do except for Mia who had a few good scenes in her kitty!

All other stars have done a good job.

. Director: Salam Palappetty Producer: AS Girish Cast: Mohanlal, Fahad Fazal, Asif Ali, Mia, Meghana Sundar Raj, Saiju Kurup, Meera Nandan

MALAYALAM FILM AMEN REVIEW...

New latest Malayalam Amen, directed by Lijo Jose Pellisserry and starring Indrajith, Swathi Reddy and Fahadh Fazil among others is an experimental film and one of the most unconventional cinema in recent times. The film, that runs to 2 hours and 45 minutes does test your patience here and there!

The script of Amen could have been cut short by at least 20 minutes. Lijo has very smartly worked on the script and made sure to introduce comic situations every now and then between serious situations. This helps a great deal as the audience would not feel overburdened by the seriousness of the film.

The climax especially is extremely well executed. Though Amen has the potential to become a blockbuster, it cannot be predicted as to how the average movie goers will react to an experimental film as this! Story Amen deals out with the love tale of Soloman and Sosamma, in which Fahadh Fazil portrays the character of Soloman and Swathi Reddy plays the role of Sosamma who is a singer and part of the choir. The plot revolves around the lives of few people around an ancient church. Indrajith plays the role of Father Vincent Indrajith, Swathi Reddy, Fahadh Fazil Vattolli, the pastor of a church in a village called Kumaragiri. Script writer turned actress Natasha Sehgal plays the love interest of Indrajith. Rachana, Kalabhavan Mani, Anil Murali and Sandra Thomas form the rest of the star cast of Amen. Performances Well, when you talk about Fahadh Fazil, you don't expect anything less than a superflous performance, and that is exactly what Fahad delivers! He has proved once again that he is a brilliant actor. Telugu film actress Swathi Reddy is good too and proves her mettle in Amen. Indrajith deserves a standing ovation for his performance. He is able to get the entire audience laughing.

Verdict Watch Amen only if you enjoy watching different and experimental cinema

. Cast: Indrajith, Swathi Reddy, Fahadh Fazil, Innocent, Rachana Narayanankutty, Natasha Sehgal Director: Lijo Jose Pellisserry
